EventSured

Quote calculations automated, from hours of underwriting to minutes
2023

We went from concept to a live, compliant platform in months. The engineering depth and domain understanding they brought to our insurance vertical was exceptional. They don't just code — they think through the architecture.

The Problem

EventSured is a US-based events insurance company offering event liability coverage for private, business, sporting, and social outings. But when we first engaged, their entire operation was offline: paper-based quoting, manual data entry, and ACT CRM for lead management. Every quote required staff to manually calculate complex insurance logic. Documents were scattered. Claims processing was slow.

Expanding their successful model across different business needs was nearly impossible with the existing setup. The client needed an online system where applicants could fill in their information and get a quote instantly, with detailed specifications so customers could compare coverage and choose what fit their budget.

The Challenges

The insurance quote calculation involved complex conditional logic across multiple coverage types, each with different pricing tiers and state-level regulations. We had to replicate the underwriters' mental model in software without introducing errors that could have real financial consequences.

The legacy ACT CRM system had years of customer data trapped inside it. Migrating without data loss while building a modern replacement was a non-negotiable requirement. And all of this had to work for a US insurance market with its own regulatory and compliance landscape, built by a team in India.

Our Solution

We deployed a microservice architecture on AWS with Laravel and React, backed by MySQL. The front-end handles complex multi-step forms for quoting, while the backend processes long-running quote calculations as background jobs. We replaced ACT CRM entirely with a purpose-built CRM featuring customer management, groups management, email marketing automation, lead/prospect tracking, and reporting.

The quote engine was the hardest piece. We spent weeks modeling the underwriting logic, testing edge cases, and validating quotes against the manual process before cutting over. Integration with the insurer's backend policy, financial, and admin systems was built via REST APIs, creating a seamless flow from quote to binding to policy issuance.

Every customer contact is now stored, tracked, and retrievable from one platform. The system tracks growth across new geographies and has fundamentally changed how EventSured competes in the events insurance market.

The Acquisition

In March 2024, Foresite Sports (the parent company of EventSured, US Hole In One, and Interactive Promotions Group) was acquired by Jencap Group, one of the largest insurance wholesalers in the U.S. The platform we built was part of the deal.

Jencap's President Mark Maher called it "a strategic move that enhances our position in the market and expands our portfolio of specialized insurance products." Greg Esterhai, CEO of Foresite Sports, noted that becoming part of Jencap "allows us to tap into expanded resources and leverage their industry-leading infrastructure to better serve our clients."

Today, we continue working directly with Jencap, a testament to the software quality, domain expertise, and long-term partnership we bring to every engagement.
